Anthony Lanaro Obituary
Born in Schenectady on June 16, 1947 He was the son of Genesio and Mary Lanaro. Tony graduated of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1965 and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1968-1970 where he received the Vietnam service medal, bronze star medal and the combat infantry badge. Following his military service Tony worked at the General Electric Co. as a winder retiring in 1998 with over 30 years of service.
He will be remembered for his love of his family, scrapping and upcycling, gardening, trips to Maine and making wine with Romolo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Angela (Mastroianni) Lanaro. His 4 children Anthony (Kiley), Richard (Heather), Christina (Billy) and Michael (Nicole).
6 grandchildren Marina, Ryan, Gino, Giovanni, Anthony and Gabriella.
Tony also leaves behind his sister Rosemary.
Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brother Joseph.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.
A 1 p.m. prayer service will immediately follow.
Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Cyril's cemetery.
It is requested that flowers not be sent and a donation be made in Tony's memory to the charity of your choice.
