Craig St.Cyr Obituary

Craig A. St.Cyr, 69, of Stillwater, NY passed away peacefully March 19, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born November 14, 1952 in Adams, MA. He graduated from Adams High School in 1970 and continued on to the University of New Hampshire for business. He married Barbara J. Agard, May 20, 1988 in North Bennington, VT.

Craig was the teen that you weren't supposed to be. Drinking, staying out and even running away to attend Woodstock. He purchased a car and managed to wreck it, before he even had his license. He loved whitewater rafting, deep sea fishing, and bird watching. Over the years he made friends with wild squirrels and a family of ravens. He was known to howl at full moons, and even convince his grandkids he might be a werewolf. Some of his favorite memories were made on the back of a motorcycle with his favorite being his Valkyrie. He was the cat with 9 lives who lived his life in the fast lane.

Craig was a Mechanical Engineer with his Masters license in Plumbing and Heating in 3 different states. He owned several plumbing and heating companies throughout the years specializing in commercial, residential, and industrial work. He was very involved with the plumbing apprenticeship program having trained many new plumbers. In his later years he enjoyed working his wood processor and spending time on the farm.

Craig is survived by his wife Barbara of almost 34 years. His children Julie (Michael) Zsiga of Troy, NY, Melanie (Scott) Ronda of Melrose, NY, and Shane (Loveline) Durkee of Beaufort, SC. His brother Kirk (Laurie) St.Cyr of Adams, MA. His sister Jane (Greg) Furch of Glenview, IL. Grandchildren Gunnar Zsiga of Troy, NY, Cody (Emily) Starks of Stillwater, NY, Autumn (Mike) Thompson of Buskirk, NY, Rebecca Starks of CA, and Shana More of AL. As well as 10 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Doreen and Arthur St.Cyr and his brother Alan St.Cyr.

Craig was the biggest teddy bear. He had a hard exterior, and did not tolerate lateness or nonsense, but if you needed anything, he was always the first person you could call. Catch you on the flip-side old man, drive fast and take chances.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Craig's name to Lucky Puppy Rescue, 511 Pleasant Valley Rd, Argyle, NY 12809 or at theluckypuppy.org.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life party for Craig on April 30, 2022 from 1 to 4 p.m. at C & R Restaurant in Galway, NY.

Craig was a valued member of the AMHS Class of 1970. I remember him most as an intelligent classmate in junior high when he was in most of my classes. He was friends with everyone. Condolences from the AMHS Class of 1970

Our memories of the good times at the St Cyr home on Thompson St are some of the greatest memories of our lives! Every weekend we´d get there early on Sunday and not leave until well after dark. It was like one big family.
Craig was a lot like his Dad Arty, they had hearts of gold and would do anything for friends.
We haven´t seen each other in a while but Craig will always be in our hearts and memories. RIP Craiger.

I have fond memories of our doing business together and perhaps having a pint or two at Saluzzo's grill.
My thoughts and prayers to his family.
