Dorothy C. LaRoss

Dorothy C. LaRoss MaltaDorothy (Dot) C. LaRoss, 84, formerly of Malta, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Wesley Health Care Center after an extended illness. She was born in Troy, NY and was the daughter of the late Henry and Marion Gould. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. Her joyful spirit brought much happiness to all her family and friends. She participated in a bible study group and enjoyed various crafts. She was an excellent seamstress, baker and cook. A boat ride on Lake George during the fall was one of her favorite things to do annually. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Chauncey (Cy) H. LaRoss in August 2012. She was the devoted mother of Mary Grace (Joe) Golinski, Nancy (Tom) Bickert, Diane (Bill) Blanchard, Jeffrey (Beckey) LaRoss and the late Robert and John LaRoss. Dorothy is the sister of the late Marion Miller and the late George Gould. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Saratoga VA Cemetery. In keeping with Dorothy's giving spirit, memorial contributions are suggested to Greater Grace Church, 100 Saratoga Blvd., #17, Malta, NY 12020.
