JAMES C. STEKEUR Sr.

James C. Stekeur Sr., 75, of Schenectady, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in Florida, where he spent his winters. Born in Albany, Jim was the son of the late William and Lillian Thorne Stekeur. He was the best friend and beloved husband of Wilma Mathias Stekeur, to whom he was happily married for 53 years. Jim graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and was the owner of S&S Waste Service, which he started with his brother in 1959 and ran for 38 years. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, wandering flea markets, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He treasured the time that he spent helping in the family trash businesses in any way that he could. Jim is the loving father of Sandra DeLorenzo (Pat) of Guilderland, James (Jimmer) Stekeur Jr. (Sylvia) of Burnt Hills, Susan Wright (Jerry) of Slingerlands, and Joyce Weldon of Schenectady; cherished grandfather of Kyle, Eric, and Courtney DeLorenzo; Christopher, Craig, and Caitlyn Stekeur; and Lea and Abbi Wright. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning December 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment in Viewland Cemetery.
