Jeanette O'Connell Obituary

Jeanette DeKoning O'Connell, 98, of Schenectady went home on November 13, 2021 to be reunited with her husband James O'Connell, son Kevin, daughter Mary Jean Maas, sisters Ada Kugel, Ruth Shuart, brothers Nick and John DeKoning. Jeanette was born on May 11, 1923 to the late Leonard and Trina Vander Weide DeKoning in North Haledon, New Jersey. Jeanette and James lived in Williston Park, NY where they were very active in the community and their churches raising six children there before retiring to Mt. Airy, NC. Jeanette will be lovingly remembered for her love, intelligence, curiosity, creativity, passion and pride in her children. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (David) McKeon, James (Phyllis) O'Connell, Donald (Maureen) O'Connell and Dennis (Jean) O'Connell, 13 grandchildren and her 26 great grandchildren.
