Joan 'Noreen' Childs HalfmoonJoan Noreen Childs, age 76, of Halfmoon passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at her home. Born on April 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joseph K. and Agnes M. (Lavin) Heimberger. Noreen graduated from Waterford High School in 1954. She worked for 15 years at the Watervliet Arsenal before retiring in 1993 after 23 years with Trane Heating and Cooling in Latham. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph G. Childs Sr.; sons, Joseph G. (Valerie) Childs Jr. of Greenfield Center, Jeffrey M. (Lorraine) Childs of Clifton Park; and sister, Shirley Sherwood. She is also survived by grandsons, Steven J. Childs and Jeffrey R. Childs; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park with a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Crescent. Burial will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.
