Marceline Schaefer Obituary

Marceline "Marcy" Schaefer, 89, passed, peacefully, away Sunday June 24, 2018.Marcy was born in Schenectady the daughter of late John and Casimira Kozielski and lived most of her life in the Schenectady area. She graduated from Nott Terrace High School and attended the College of St. Rose. Marcy married the love of her life, Donald Schaefer, on June 12, 1948. She was very active in her daughters and grandchildren's lives and loved to vacation on Cape Cod and Sanibel Island.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald and her brother, John "Jack" Cole. Marcy is survived by her daughters, Donna (Mike) Nicholas, Carol Bolam and Diane (Tom) O'Donnell; grandchildren, Matthew (Ally) Nicholas, Sara Nicholas, Daniel Bolam, Mary Elise Rees, and Molly and Emily O'Donnell; great-grandchildren, Elias and Hazel and nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Union St. A calling hour will precede the Mass on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church.Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Schenectady City Mission, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
