Mike " Rail" Bouck was a great friend and kindred soul who lived his creed. He taught the Pleasant Valley/McKinley School boys the definition of cool. Rail was a loyal man who will be missed.

A true Pleaseant Valley Grade School legend growing up with him and Karen.
My Rail tail goes like this:
While taking an art class in 5th grade we were working with black charcoal. Rail raises his hand to request a trip to the boys room and permission is granted. 15 min later Rail comes shuffeling back into class bobbing his head and snapping his fingers with a mustache gotee combination drawn on his face beatnik style. Of course the class roared with laughter and the teacher instructed him to go back and wash it off.
Long be remebered one cooool cool daddy "The Rail" Daryl Patrick San Jose Ca. and one of The Patrick Boys from Mount Pleasant

Tom,
I haven't seen Mike since High School and my cousin Anthony's back yard. He always had a smile, joke and a hand shake. Just a down to earth and great guy.
Very sorry for your loss,
Al Nebolini

My deepest condolences go out to the Bouck Family. My friendship with Rail goes back to the Barnsider days, when us college kids called him "Uncle Rail". I will miss his emails, humor and sharp wit, he was surely one of a kind. My next Stoli and iced tea will definitely come with a "Rail story".

Dad,
You truly were one of a kind. I'll always remember your plethora of "Rail-isms," as Theresa, Bram, and I coined them. The things you said sometimes? Hilarious. Theresa and I were just talking about them this morning.
We shared a love of classic rock, jazz, and an affinity for live music - even though you were furious when I "borrowed" the car to see The Dead play in Highgate, VT when I was 17. But you hitch hiked to Woodstock! I thought you would understand!
You made a mean cocktail and a killer steak. I'll never forget our trips to Civatello's for lemon ice, Luther's for ice cream, and that Italuan deli on Van Vranken Ave for prosciutto and provolone subs. We also shared a love of food, apparently.
I'm eternally grateful for the time we had together before you passed. Thanks for teaching me dominos. I love you, Dad. I miss you already.
Love,
Mercie

Rail and I waited tables at the old Barnsider Restaurant in Colonie Center for many years.
The restaurant business is a people business as much as it is a food business and I don't recall that any other waiter had more of a following than he did with so many customers specifically asking to sit in "Rail's" section.
Through his wit, charisma and yes, a healthy portion of good natured customer abuse he had them coming back for more - week after week. The customers absolutely loved him.
I still think of him often, the joy he brought to those who knew him and I offer my deepest condolences to his family.
