Michael A. Fiacco MechanicvilleMichael A. Fiacco, 59, former resident of Mechanicville, died suddenly Sunday at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, NewPort Richey, FL, from pneumonia complications. Born in Troy, Sept. 29, 1952, son of Anthony Chet and Filomena Anatriello Fiacco of Mechanicville, Mike was a 1971 graduate of Catholic Central High School, where he excelled in football and track. Early in his employment career, Mike worked at the former Ford Green Island Plant, and years at GE Silicone Products plant in Waterford. Over 30 years ago, Mike moved to Florida, where he worked as a self-employed construction owner, specializing in stucco and masonry finishing. A gregarious and infectious nature and smile, Mike could keep everyone's attention with never ending stories. A former member of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville and the Mechanicville Athletic Club, Mike enjoyed his visits home to see his family and lifelong friends. Survivors in addition to his parents include his daughter, Michele (Andrew) Von Haugg of Mechanicville; his son, Michael (Cassie) Fiacco of Watervliet; grandchildren, Luca and Briella Fiacco; two brothers, Gerard Gerry (Heidi) Fiacco of Orlando, FL, and Anthony (Larissa) Fiacco of Mechanicville; along with niece and nephews, Luca, Anthony, Chet and Camryn Fiacco. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, (St. Paul's), 121 No. Main St. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery.There will be no calling hours.
