Michael Timpanaro Obituary

Michael B. Timpanaro, 50, of Century Court, died suddenly Friday morning in Tarrytown, NY, while working as a deliveryman for National Freight Co. Born in Troy, March 22, 1959, he was the son of Teresa Panza Timpanaro of Mechanicville and the late Sebastian "Busty" Timpanaro. Mike was a proud member of the Mechanicville High School Class of 1977, returned to education and received degrees from Schenectady County Community College and College of Saint Rose, where he earned a BA in music. Mike had a diverse job career, but his life's passion was his music. An award winning tuba player, he proudly performed with the Capital District Wind Ensemble under direction of Prof. Brett Wery, along with several other groups. Always one that loved the wind in his face, Mike was happiest on his motorcycle and any other speed machine he could get on. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his two sons, Blaise S. Timpanaro of Clifton Park and Michael J. Timpanaro of Mechanicville; three sisters, Nancy "Bucks" (Wayne) Timpanaro-Hogan of Mechanicville, Susan (Larry) Hatalsky of Malta and Johna (Donald) Simmons of North Carolina; along with nieces, nephews, aunts/uncles, cousins and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul North Main Street Church in Mechanicville. Burial at St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main St., Mechanicville, on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Schenectady County Comm. College Foundation for the college's music program, in memory of Michael B. Timpanaro.

To All of Mikes Family,
Deep sympathy's for the loss of a good man. I was a classmate of Mikes at SCC and St Rose. I will always remember him carrying around his tuba everywhere and the beautiful music he made from it. I had the pleasure of accompanying a piece while in school together. My thoughts are with the family at this time of grief.

My dear friend Johnna and family,

Words cannot express the saddened feeling in my heart. I shared many, many meals in your kitchen with Michael - which he never missed making fun of my dimples. If I had only one quote to pick for Michael it would be "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." Michael was truly one of the nicest. He was so very kind to all; he truly will be missed by many

To All of Michael's Family,
My special memories shared with Mike and his family will be fondly remembered forever. There was always room at the table for one more person...making all who visited to feel welcome. There's a famous quote that comes to mind when I think of him..."Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile." His life touched many, his kindness touched all. Until we meet again....

Mrs. Timpanaro, Nancy and Family,
I am sorry to hear about Micheal passing away. My sincere condolences to you all. Micheal sure looked like Busty. He was nice young man and very talented musically. Seeing his picture brings back memories of sitting in the Joyce's Log Cabin restaurant on main st. Busty was always making excellent meals in the kitchen.

I was quite saddened and taken aback when I heard about Mike's passing. I knew Mike almost my entire adult life, meeting him when I started SCCC many moons ago. The thing that always impressed me about him was his passion for music, and that he never had a bad day. Always smiling, always pleasant, always willing to chat and give a laugh.

I'm sorry I was not able to pay my respects in person, but I know he would understand; I had a rehearsal. My condolences to Mike's family and friends in this trying time.

They say only the good die young, and Mike was a prime example. Rest In Piece, Mike. May the wind be at your back.

Mike,
If teachers were allowed to have favorites, you’d be one of mine (wink, wink)! It broke my heart to see the grief in your eyes tonight, but remember what it was that I said to you. The best thing you can do moving forward, is to make your Dad proud! One thing I noticed about you during the two years I taught you, was that you have a good heart. And, so, take that kindness and live to be the best you can be! It will be a gift to your Dad, who will always be with you, he is always inside of you and he is everywhere...best of all, someday you will be with him once again and can see how proud you have made him!! Hang in there, Buddy!

Love,
Ms. Maxfield

I went to Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) and was in the music dept. with him. He was such a sweet guy, always smiling, making jokes, funny, and fun to be around. Even though I haven't seen him for a few years now I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I am so sad to see him gone. My prayers are with his family and friends. He was such a great guy and I truly feel sorry for anyone that didn't get a chance to know him. :(

My Thoughts and prayers are with you all. Blaise and Michael, he was always so proud of you. Always remember that.

I will miss Mike in so many ways. He was such a part of John, (my husband and our life) and my life.
I will miss sharing his culinary passions as we took 12 hour motorcycle rides to find the perfect little restaurant or as I would cook for the three of us and finish it off with coffee and sambuca.
I will miss the journeys that we all took on the motorcycle that would start at noon and end at midnight. Mikey T would say…hey I know this twisty that is just a little further, before we knew it we were all in the northern part of VT.
I enjoyed the journeys that took place off the motorcycle as we tried to discover the meaning of life and happiness. I will miss him explaining the tuba to me and getting so I can pick it out among the other instruments. Mostly I will miss the friendship and the laughter and just the knowing that there is a kind being that use to walk among us and his name was “Mikey T” That is what brings me the most sadness is the loss to all those who he had not met yet. We will honor him by bringing his smile to as many people as we can while we are on this earth.

To Mikey T's Family, I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing. I got to know Mike through our employer and we became friends instantly with such common interest's in good food and restaurants, motorcycles & snowmobiles just to name a few.My most cherished memory was a day him and I spent snowmobiling about 11 years ago in the Glens Falls/Lake George Region. I didn't know the trails in the area but Mike sure did and he rode that Cat to its full potential. Every time we stopped he had a smile from ear to ear that I will never forget! We will all miss you Mikey.

My dear friend Pickles,There are only a few people in the world privileged enough to call you by that name. And my Joey and I are the charter members of that club. A lifetime of friendship and loyalty have filled my heart and mind with warm loving memories. Right now however,my mind is blank and my heart is broken because you are gone. Time will help to heal this pain and I will smile again someday, because I will never stop thinking about you. I will always remember you and all that we have been through. Your quest for speed throughout life many times left me in second place. You always had to have the faster car, motorcycle, snowmobile or boat. Well you beat me again, you got to heaven first. Your life has not ended it has gone on to the next phase which is eternal life. See you again on the other side someday my friend.

Our condolences to Mike's family. Mike, "Mr T", always the source of a smile and so many happy memories. I'll miss the golf but I'll never forget my one experience with Mike's need for speed. We were at an air show and a B1 bomber makes a low pass over the field. Without saying a word we both raise our forearms and show each other the "goose bumps". We laughed at each other for 5 minutes! I justed wanted to share with you that my life was enriched for having known your Son, Father, Brother, Cousin, Friend.
God Bless, Andy Holmes & Family

Dear Timpanaro Family,

I was very saddened to hear the sad news of Mike's passing. I was only privileged to know him in our younger years but will always remember Mike's fun-loving personality. I can't forget the great times we had in band - especially when both Mike and I took up the bass guitar and saw fit to hold jam sessions in the band room. I can see from the other memories that Mike did not change much over the years. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

To Michael's Family,

Michael was a great friend and our most enjoyed riding buddy. We would meet up in various locations and ride until days end. We shared a passion to be moving in the wind, exploring new places and meeting new people along the way. Mike especially enjoyed breaking bread at an out of the way restaurant. It was almost never about the destination, but rather the experience we shared along the way. We will miss him and always remember him on our continuing journey down life's highway. We can only hope there are motorcycles in Heaven.

God Bless.

What a beautiful obituary. I am so sorry for the pain your family is feeling. As in so much of life, it is beyond human understanding. My fondest memories of Mike, "Tippi" are him keeping Miss Shiebler's MHS band in sync. His presence was always felt. I think it is safe to leave it at that. Lots of good memories. Yet another proud member of the class of 77. He is braving the path for us all. I wish you all an extra special sense of peace, love and comfort.
