Nickie Foss Obituary

Nickie L. Foss Ballston SpaNickie L. Foss, 53, of Ballston Spa, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012, at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Troy, February 7, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Virginia Dunster Foss. Nickie graduated from Adirondack Community College with an associate degree in business. Nickie worked in customer service at Denby's and the Carl Co. and later at New Meadow Preschool and YMCA K-Care in Scotia. Nickie enjoyed gardening, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, walking and being outside. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her cherished cats. Nickie is survived by her twin sister, Vickie Plumley of Long Lake; and her children, Jessica Plumley of East Greenbush and Nikolas Plumley of Waterford; her brothers, Rocky Foss and his wife, Linda of Hurlock, Maryland, and Rod Foss and his wife, Susan of Burnt Hills; and her nieces, Jennifer, Erica, Lisa, Sarah, Erika and Danielle. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (www.ocrf.org) or Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Nickie, Ole Pearl is what Chris and I used to call you. I'm blown away. my father called me a few hours ago and told me you were gone. My heart is broke. All those years we worked together at BSNB, probablly about eleven years. I used to love to say or do something completely outragous to make you laugh. A lot of times I got you in hysterics. I will always remember you, I promise. Monday night a commercial came on television about the cereal Great Grains. I thought of you. If you were here I know you would remember why. You were beautiful. I love you.
