Robert J. Kaska RotterdamRobert J. Kaska, 71, of Vischer Ave., passed away at home on Monday, September 23, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born September 28, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ. Bob came to Albany in 1961 and was united in marriage to Linda Wickens on December 12, 1964. He spent his entire career in the insurance business and retired from AIG in 1993. Bob had a passion for baseball and was an avid NY Yankees fan. He coached or managed little league or Babe Ruth teams his entire life. He also was a member of the Rotterdam Elks Lodge 2157. He is survived by his wife, Linda and their two children, Terri (Roger) Dufek and Robert J. Kaska Jr., both of Rotterdam. Four grandchildren, Robert J. Kaska III, Caitlin Kaska, Renee Dufek and Brion Dufek. His sister, JoAnn Kaska (James) Templin of Plattsburgh. Brothers and sister-in-law, Duane (Janet) Wickens, Richard (Nancy) Wickens and Betty Wickens. He is also survived by his two godsons, Joseph and Jonathan Templin and several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eileen Grogan Kaska and his brother-in-law, Stuart Wickens. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Friday at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg St. Burial will follow at St. Cyril's Cemetery.
