Robert Kosineski Obituary

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Robert "Kos" Kosineski, 80, of Amsterdam, NY, and Delray Beach, FL. Husband, Father, Grandfather, and a wonderful friend to so many, he passed surrounded by his loving family. He was our patriarch, and only the intense love he gave will outweigh the absence we now feel.

Bob grew up in Amsterdam, the son of Virginia and George Kosineski. He attended St. Mary's Institute, from which he graduated in 1960. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Pauline Martini, on July 15, 1961. Of all of his lifelong friends, it was rare to find Kos without his best friend, Vito "Butch" Greco, the two were nearly inseparable for 72 years.

In 1985 he established Benchemark Printing, Inc. and was soon joined by both of his sons in a true family business that persists til this day. Additionally, he proudly owned and ran the Amsterdam Recorder for several years, and was a proud member of the Amsterdam Municipal Golf Commission, as well as the Bigelow Weaver Association.

Bob was well known for his generosity to the community, the kindest of hearts, and a lust for life. He was the master of lawn games, a lifelong Yankees fan, a Disney devotee, an avid golfer, an unofficial Coors Light brand ambassador, and the sharpest dresser you ever saw. Those who knew him are forever blessed, and we will sing his praises for as long as we have air in our lungs. From this day forward we will do everything we can to fill the heart-shaped hole he leaves in this world.

He is survived by his wife Pauline, sons Robert Jr. (Kate) and Brian (Chris), his sisters-in-law Barbara Kosineski, Katherine Castor, and Angela Martini, his four beloved grandchildren, and more aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins than can be named. His most cherished role in life was that of grandfather. He was "Poppy" to RJ, Alyssa, Julia (Michael Palmerino), and David - they are proud to have called Poppy their mentor and guide. Bob is predeceased by his mother Virginia, his stepfather Eugene Brach, his father George, his younger twin brothers Dennis and Michael, and his brothers-in-law Henry Martini and Donald Castor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 31,2023 at 11:00 am, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY with The Very Rev. O. Kos was the closest friend to my cousin Butch. He was a friend to my Mom and Dad. Kos help another cousin with a cancer physician referral which lead to a cure. Only time can cure the pain of the loss of a person who extend his hand to help someone in need. May you enjoy Heaven, we are sure you are playing golf with Cousin Anthony!
