Robert Stephen Macica

1929 - 2018

Robert Stephen Macica, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2018 at his home in the arms of his wife. He was born on June 6, 1929 in Saratoga Springs, New York, the son of the late Frank Macica and Mary Chudacik Macica. Robert served his country with pride in the US Army for four years. He was a Control Operator at the General Electric in Waterford, NY for many years prior to retiring in 1989. Robert enjoyed having more time to pursue his love for fishing and especially spending time with his family and friends at Camp David in the Adirondacks. Robert is a faithful life member of the VFW Post 420 and the Eagles 2586 in Saratoga Springs. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara K. (Vanderhule) Macica; sons, Richard Macica (Carol), Albert Macica (Jennifer Horbak); daughter, Gail Hall (John); brother, Albert Macica (Linda); sister, Margeret Suire (Jerry); grandchildren, Jordan and Robbie Macica, Jacqueline McGuire, Amy Hall (TJ Clothier), Benjamin Hall (Carissa), Katie Decker (Timothy), Erin Fleming (Brian), five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Dower; one brother and seven sisters. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY. Family and friends may call from 12 noon to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors for family will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
