Robert Louis Strazzi

Robert "Bob" Louis Strazzi, 77, of Schenectady, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at Ellis Hospital following a long illness. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Rocco and Rose (DiCerbo) Strazzi. Bob attended local schools and was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. He was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady and was a member of the Elks Lodge #2157, Rotterdam. Bob was a beloved barber, having served the Woodlawn community for over 55 years at his shop, Roc's Hair Styling, and had been working up to the time of his passing. Over the years, Bob's customers became his best friends and he truly cherished those relationships. Above all else, Bob was a devoted family man. He was a proud father and grandfather and will be truly missed by all. Bob was predeceased by his parents, the late Rocco and Rose (DiCerbo) Strazzi. Survivors include his close friend and former wife, Constance Strazzi; his sons, Rocky Strazzi and his wife, Gina of Schenectady, Steve Strazzi of Schoharie; his brother, Joseph Strazzi and his wife, Judy of Florida; two grandsons, Eric and Mitchell Strazzi of Schenectady; and his companion, Mary Kloplot. He will be missed by many close friends including, James Gaylord Sr., Gary Myatt, and fellow barber and close friend, Steve Croce. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place privately at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady. The family would like to thank Dr. James Gaylord and the ICU staff at Ellis for the excellent care given to Bob.
