Roger Szurek Obituary

Roger D. Szurek Watertown - Roger D. Szurek, 73, Watertown and formerly of Amsterdam, died December 7, 2023.
He was born in Amsterdam June 19, 1950, son of Alfred J. and Florence E. (Malicki) Szurek.
Roger was an English teacher and also served as an assistant superintendent for Indian River School District, Philadelphia, NY.
Suvivors: wife, Sheila; son Dan; daughter Sarah; stepson Matt Abare; brother-in-law Tom Perillo, Amsterdam and his children Thomas Perillo, Jr. and Natalie Gonzales; 1 aunt and several cousins. Predeceased: father, Alfred; mother Florence Penman; sister Sandra Perillo.
Funeral mass December 18, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Watertown followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery.
Arrangements with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown and online condolences may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers donations to SPCA of Jefferson County, 25056 Water St., Watertown, NY 13601.
