Rose Trant Obituary

Rose Marie Trant, 81, longtime resident of Broadway, died peacefully on January 20, 2021 at St. peter's Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Peru, NY on August 31, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Edna Pelkey Doner. Rose enjoyed playing Bingo, tending to her flowers around the home, and was an excellent cook who also enjoyed baking. She was a former member of the Mechanicville Stillwater Elks Lodge, alongside her husband Jim. Above all else, Rose cherished the time spent with her 5 grandchildren. Rose Marie was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Maurice "Jim" Trant, who died in 2002, as well as her sisters Jennie Stanoski, Marion Guynup and Lillian Cayea. Survivors include her daughter Jamie Amsler of Saratoga Springs, sons Michael (Lisa)Trant of Loudonville and Maurice "Mo"(Tami)Trant of West Charlton, daughter Cheryl Trant(David Comorski) of Colonie, grandchildren Daniel Amsler, Joshua Trant, Michael, Makayla and Madison Lodowski. Also survived by a brother John "Jack" Doner. Calling hours on Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 with a Funeral Home Service at 1 p.m. Burial alongside her husband to follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 in memory of Rose Marie Trant. www.devito-salvadorefh.com for directions and to leave condolences.
