Thomas W. Dragon

1937 - 2021

Thomas W. Dragon, 84, died on Monday, October 25, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 3, 1937, in Plattsburgh, he was the son of the late Stuart and Esterine (Jarvis) Dragon. After high school, Tom worked at the family-owned Dragon Feed Store. At the age of 20, he enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country until receiving an honorable discharge in 1959. He then became the proprietor of Gran-Vue Restaurant in Plattsburgh. When he and his family moved to Schoharie County, Tom was employed at the Summit Correctional Facility and retired as Lieutenant. Tom enjoyed his daily runs, flying his airplanes and cruising on his motorcycles. Retirement brought him the pleasure of traveling worldwide with his best friend and soulmate, Nancy, whom he married September 5, 1959. Forever cherishing his memories are his loving wife, Nancy (Oliver) Dragon; children: Randy Dragon, Donna (Michael Walsh) Dragon and Debbie Dragon; grandchildren: Shawn (Brittney) Baker, Kari Baker, Marc (Samantha Thompson) Dragon, Alex Dragon, Tommy Vaughan, Jeremy (Jessica) Vaughan, Tyler Vaughan and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his older brother, James Dragon. A private family remembrance will be held at a later date.
