Vito Pagnotti

Vito Pagnotti, Ph.D. Niskayuna - Vito Pagnotti, 77, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, June 9, 2024, in the loving arms of his wife of 31 years, Athena Perotis Pagnotti, and his son, Victor Gabriel Pagnotti. Vito was born in Niskayuna on September 21, 1946, a son of the late Vito and Phyllis Bianco Pagnotti. He was a 1964 graduate of Linton High School; a Steinmetz and a Nott Scholar and graduate of Union College, with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1968; and Vito earned his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University at Albany in 1980. Vito retired in 2010, after 27 years of service, as an Air Pollution Meteorologist for NYSDEC in Albany.
Vito was predeceased by his parents; sister, Angela Pagnotti; brother, Carmen Pagnotti; and his beloved pets Mattie (Sheltie) and Dixie (Golden Retriever).
Vito is survived by his wife and son; nephews, Darrin Rudd and Lukas Azar; and nieces, Serena Rudd- Poland and Daniella Azar; and several great nephews, great niece and Godchildren.
Vito preferred the quiet of home with his family and friends around him. We will treasure his wit, sincerity, love and devotion to God and family. There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will take place Wednesday for family members and close friends. Burial will follow in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation in Glenville, NY, or to the charity of one's choosing.
