William Clairmont

William "Bill" Clairmont died after a long battle with cancer at his home on February 13, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born in Cohoes, NY on July 6, 1929, Bill graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy and then graduated from Siena College with a business degree. Bill worked at Bosslinco Trucking, NYS Department of Labor and Schenectady Chamber of Commerce. Bill loved to fish and loved going to the Saratoga Casino. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne (Heroux) Clairmont; and his brothers, Art, Donald and Ted. He is survived by his sister, Honey; his children, Deborah (Robert) Zink, William (Linda) Clairmont, Carol (Scott) Rickson, Sandy (Daniel) Andrew, Denise (Eric) Rickson; his grandchildren, Robert, Laurie (Chris), Matthew (Susan), Thomas (Rachel), Erin (Andrew), Garrett, Jennifer (Leonard), Brian, Ryan, Karisa (Rick) Lennox and Eric and great-grandchildren Josephine, Anthony, Sophia, Sadie, Brody, Elijah, Gideon, Leonard, Ayley and Emma. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 18 at 10 a.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Calling hours will take place Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Buff for his years of loving care to Bill, everyone at Dr. Chao's and our special nurses Karen Jarosz and Earl Bradt.
