William Lamb Obituary

William J. Lamb passed away on February 26th, 2016, after a long illness. He was born in Schenectady, New York, on December 28, 1955. He graduated from Burnt Hills – Ballston Lake High School in 1973. He was involved in youth activities at East Glenville Church. Bill was a Boy Scout in Troop 70. Bill graduated from Adelphi University's College of Arts and Sciences, on Long Island, with a B.A. in Performing Arts, in 1977. Bill attended summer sessions at Jacob's Pillow, in Lenox, MA, and the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. In New York City, Bill performed on television's "Another World", movies, theatre, commercials, and magazine print work. He performed with the Flower Hujer Dance Theatre, Morelli Ballet and the Weist Barron School of Television. His off Broadway experience included "Babes in Arms", and roles for the Richard Morse Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Trinity Theatre and the Michael Shulman Theatre. Bill's regional and summer stock experience included Schenectady Civic Theatre, Charles Lane Theatre, Poinsettia Playhouse, Adelphi Theatre and the Daytona Beach Playhouse. Bill belonged to the Screen Actors Guild, and the Actor's Equity Association. In Florida, Bill briefly worked for Keyes Real Estate. Bill was also a licensed Massage Therapist. Bill worked for the US Post Office for eighteen years. He was on their bowling team. Bill had many interests, which included riding his motorcycle, as well as scuba diving. Bill was also a member of The Park Optimists of Miami. Bill is survived by his very loving and totally devoted parents, Frank and Frances Lamb, of South Miami, formerly of Burnt Hills, New York. Bill is also survived by his sister, Barbara and her husband, Andy Urban, of Garland, Texas. He is survived by his niece, Stefanie Urban and her husband, Nathan Campbell, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and his nephew, Christopher Urban, of Dallas, Texas. Memorial contributions in Bill's honor may be made to The Park Optimists of Miami, which is a support and activity group for people with the challenges of Parkinson's disease.
