HAMPSHIRE - Anita Mae (Hazle) Kent, 81, of Hampshire, passed away on April 15, 2022, at Heritage Woods in Huntley. She was born on May 29, 1940, in Chicago, IL, to Evelyn (Anderson) and Ronald Hazle. She was married to Charles (Chuck) Kent in 1959, and they were married for 44 years until he passed away in 2003. She worked for many years in School District U-46 at Oakhill Elementary and Streamwood High School until she retired in 2002. She will be remembered for her kindness and caring towards students and staff alike. She loved spending time with her family and friends and traveling. She is survived by her sisters, Brenda Larrance and Rhonda (Jerry) Matherson; her daughter, Pamela (Ed) Parisek and son, Scott (Jennifer) Kent; 8 grandchildren, Kristina, Cortney, Paige, Ally, Ryan, Brandon, Jacob and Ian; 10 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Blake, Payten, Gavin, Brodie, Elijah, Quinn, Bailey, Kennedy and Ivy; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Nita. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her beloved son, Troy. Her family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Heritage Woods and Kindred Hospice who provided her with comfort, kindness, dignity and love. Visitation will be open at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St. in Elgin, IL on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 10am with a service to follow at 11am.
