Beatrice Christopher Obituary

Beatrice E. Christopher of Palatine for six years Visitation for Beatrice E. Christopher (nee Harrison), 103, formerly of Southfield, Mich. for 30 years, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, in Ravenna Cemetery, Ravenna, Mich. Born Sept. 27, 1905, in Moorland Township, Mich., she died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, in Palatine. Beatrice started her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse and continued as a math teacher in Dearborn, Mich. She was a past Regent of the Lathrup Village Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a 60-year member of the Hiawatha Sportman's Club. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H.; loving mother of June (Robert) Lee and the late Kaye (Thomas) Paxton; devoted grandmother of Christopher Lee and Laurel (David) Carver, Timothy (Nicole) Zapinski and Jennifer (Eric Stocker) Zapinski; and cherished great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Audrey and Madeline.
