DAVID GASINSKI Obituary

David M. Gasinski of Itasca A service celebrating the life of David M. Gasinski, 52, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 23, at the Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (¾ mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle. Born April 3, 1958, the son of Lauralee (nee Pernicka) and the late Anthony Gasinski, he died suddenly on April 17, 2010. David is survived by his wife, Michelle (nee Plescia) and his daughters, Theresa, Amanda, Emma and Samantha, all who truly adored him. He is also survived by his mother, Lauralee, brother Mark and sister, Karen Reed, his brothers- and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dog Libby Lu. David has many great accomplishments in his life, but his greatest was how immensely he loved and was loved. Everyone was his friend - no matter what profession or walk of life. He lived his life to the fullest, always looking forward to the next great adventure but forever mindful of the present moment. He left us with a big grin on his face. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Dave - please plant your own flowers, feed the birds in your backyard, wave to your neighbor, and make amends with someone who angered you. Be a better parent, a better friend, a better son or daughter. Continue to laugh out loud and share jokes. Look forward to tomorrow while still living for today, and always "Be Well." Michelle - It is superbowl night and we do not have Dave here with us in person, but he is always with us in spirit. We have missed him throughout the year,at the racetrack, just his views (always so interesting but he also listened just as intently to your views as well). We hope your family is doing well, just wanted wanted you to know he is in our hearts. And although we know he (more than anyone) is in a good space, we still selfishly miss him. Love, Bill Dennis and Nancy

Dear Michelle, girls, and the extended family of David,
Our heart goes out to you. We are so saddened by this loss. My husband Jack knows Dave and Michelle through our sailboat partnership, and although I never met him in person, I always thought very highly of him, and loved the way he signed his emails with "be well!"

I was in total shock and disbelief when I heard the news. It's very hard to lose a loved one, but much more so when it's unexpected. Dave was always an upbeat and positive person. Michelle, you and all you girls are just like Dave: ever smiling, happy, and fun to be around. The parties over the years by my sisters were more fun by the Gasinski's being part of them. There might be one less person present, but his sprit will still be there in all of you. He will be missed. I wish you all happiness in this difficult time, and I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Our words cannot express the sorrow we have for the loss of Dave. For the few years we knew him, we knew him as always as a happy man, always smiling laughing, we would see him at every event that had to do with church, school or his daughters. He seemed so dedicated to everything he did, especially his family. He was so energetic, thoughtful and so much fun. A person that I will admire always. We will miss him!
