David S. Wheat David S. Wheat, 54, is finally without pain. He passed peacefully in his wife's arms on Sept. 14, 2010, after a short battle with ALS. Those he loved and left behind were his wife, Kathleen; his precious Piper; his first wife, Joni; his mother Avis; his brother, Wade; his sister, Kim (Dickson) and her adoring family; his very good friends and his very best friends. Heavy in heart, Dave will be joining his father, Arthur; his brother, Doug; and his niece, Mackenzie. Dave and his wife Kathy lived in Carol Stream, but had close ties to their hometown of Rolling Meadows. Dave was in the first RMHS graduating class in 1973, and started dating Kathy after their 30-year class reunion. Dave was an accomplished glazier and worked for Franks Glass, in Lake Bluff. Dave loved everything outdoors, from working in his yard to golf and fishing. Services will be at 12 noon Sunday, Oct. 3, at Park Central/Opera in Focus, 3000 Central Road, Rolling Meadows.
