Dennis and I worked together and became fast friends. He was the best person I ever worked with and a wonderful friend to me and my family. At work, Dennis was able to understand very complex engineering systems and to then explain them in a very simple way. He was patient with his employees, had a great sense of humor, and he brought out the best in people. During stressful times Dennis remained calm and focused. Outside of work, Dennis had many interests including studying history. Dennis gave me a poster years ago with a quote he liked from Teddy Roosevelt that I think summed up Dennis' view on life. It read "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat". I still have that poster in my office, and it reminds me of my much missed friend. I am sorry he is gone, but I know that he now knows Peace and that his soul is with his parents and our Dear Lord who gave it.
