EUGENE RADOS Obituary

NAPERVILLE - Eugene F. "Gene" Rados, age 84, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1988, formerly of Lisle, IL, died Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born August 8, 1934 in Chicago, IL. Gene is the loving father of Mary (Bob) Belter of Arlington Heights, IL, Amy (Doug) Neely of Woodridge, IL, Nancy (Dave) Sutor of Villa Park, IL, Eileen (Edward) Wallschlaeger of Menomonie, WI, and Gene (Lynn) Rados of Gurnee, IL; proud grandfather of Matt (Sally), Cassie and Tim Belter; Ian (Karyn) and Evan (Alisha) Andersen, Kristin and Megan Neely; Steven Sutor Jesse Bray and Emily (Jacob) Eckwright; Devin, Sean, and Ethan Rados; cherished great-grandfather of six; uncle and great-uncle to many. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Carol A. Rados (nee McCabe); parents Allyce and August Rados; brother Robert (Patricia) Rados. Gene grew up in Chicago, attended St. Basil Grade School, Leo High School, and was a graduate of Loyola University. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Naperville and was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle, IL. Gene served our country as a member of the United States Army. He spent over 30 years of his career working as a marketing manager for IBM. He was an avid sportsman, particularly golfing, hunting, and Wii bowling. Gene enjoyed all of his time at Tabor Hills and was an active participant in all of their activities. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540. Services will begin 11:15 AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from the funeral home and proceed to a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563, 630-355-8980, www.stapostle.org.
