I can still remember meeting Grandma Clouston for the first time...I thought what a stately and beautiful woman she was! So perfectly put together and dignified. When I was dating Russ, I have a memory of her staying at the house in Portland while his parents were away. We sat on the front lawn on a summer night to look at the stars. Grandma kept a very close eye on us as our official chaperone, finally telling us to come in when it got too late. I also have great memories of her traveling to SoCal to visit us when our girls were very little. What joy she got watching their little girl antics! I'm glad she had that time with them, and they with her.

My Grandma Grace loved all kinds if candy, especially orange slices, Fannie Mae and Frangos. She loved wearing the colors lavender and blue. She took me to Chicago for lunch on the train when I was a little girl. She would bring me treats and coloring books when she found out I was home sick from school. She would come and take care of my brother and me when our parents were traveling for business. She made us chicken and dumplings because we had no idea what dumplings were. My Grandma could be strong-willed and determined when she set her mind to something. She was a sweet, loving and happy lady who always had a smile and hug for us. She always was eager to do things that would make others happy. While I can't be there in person, I will be there in spirit to celebrate your life and to say good-bye. I will miss you greatly, Grandma, and will always love you. You were the kind of Grandma every grandchild wanted to have. I feel very blessed to have had you as mine!
