ELGIN - Greg White, age 20, passed away suddenly on Thursday morning at the Loyola Medical Center in Maywood after a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis and complications from a lung transplant. Greg was born in Park Ridge on January 28, 1995. He was a lifelong resident of the Elgin area and a 2013 graduate of Larkin High School. Survivors include his parents: Steve and Melissa (nee Barfield) White, and his paternal grandmother: Zola White, his aunt: Candice (Mark) Hetzer and uncles: Robert and Jeffrey White. Other survivors include his cousins: Nicole Hetzer, Heather (Danny) Harrington, Kristen, Bryan (Kristin), Mike (Meghan) and Chris White as well as countless good and faithful friends. Greg was preceded in death by his brother: Bradley, his paternal grandfather: Robert White, and his maternal grandparents: Mott and Shirley Barfield. Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at the St. James Episcopal Church, 516 Washington St. in West Dundee. At Greg's request, he will be cremated and later inurned in the St. James Episcopal Churchyard Cemetery. Greg was a recipient of his lungs from the Gift of Hope and in turn was a donor through the Gift of Hope. Please omit flowers.
