Irene L. Doty

Irene L. Doty of Elgin Funeral services for Irene L. Doty, 92, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Road, North Plato. The Rev. Edward A. Davis will officiate. Born June 27, 1909, in Riley Township, Ill., the daughter of William and Hulda (nee Dubbratz) Kopplin, she passed away Monday, April 1, 2002, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, in Elgin. Burial will be in Hampshire Center Cemetery. Irene was a former employee of People's Clothing Store in Elgin. She was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Plato. Irene married Kenneth Madeen and following his death in October 1955 she married Ronald H. Doty on Dec. 8, 1956 in North Plato. She is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Harold "Bud" (Anne) Madeen of Parachute, Colo.; and grandchildren, Jeff, Greg, Rick and Gwyn Madeen. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Kenneth; and ten brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire and prior to the services on Thursday, at the church.
