Isabel S. Cromer

Isabel S. Cromer a lifelong resident of Naperville Funeral services for Isabel S. Cromer (nee Schmitt), 95, will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Born Jan. 22, 1909, on a farm on Hobson Road in Naperville, she died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at her home. Interment will be in Naperville Cemetery. Mrs. Cromer attended Goodrich School and graduated from Sts. Peter & Paul Grade School. She was a 1927 graduate of Naperville High School, and North Central College, Class of 1931. She, along with her husband Harold, owned and operated Cromer Motors, a Ford Garage in Naperville, located where Sullivan's Steak House is now. Mrs. Cromer was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, a charter member of the Naperville Country Club, and was also a member of the Naperville YMCA. Isabel is survived by nieces, Mariclaire (Bruce) Havel of Naperville and Barbara (Thomas) Biltz of Fort Thomas, Ky.; a nephew, Warne (Dolores) Stauss of Lansing, Ill.; and sisters-in-law, Helen Stauss of Naperville and Bernice Manning of Fort Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Charlotte (nee Kohley) Schmitt; her husband, Harold in 1977; a brother, Berthold; and her sister, Lucilla Schmitt.
