I don´t really understand this website very well - and, of course now at 84 don´t function quite as well as 18 years ago! Paul Atkins

Belatedly, I would like to extend my sympathies to my Aunt Mary, Jenny, Art, Jim and Jeff. Chicago seemed like a long way from Toledo after you moved but you all had a knack for making us feel at home and part of the family whenever we got to Chicago. We are grateful for Uncle Jim's visits to Toledo in recent years. Brother Bill has a picture of a big white Buick with Bridges sitting in the driver's seat. It is SO easy to imagine my grinning Uncle Jim sitting in the driver's seat, instead. It is nice image.
Kumbaya, my Lord.

I remember you taking time to laugh when things got a little hairy...as they sometimes did at Sears.
Jim, May you be at peace.

I'm very sorry that I didn't learn of Jim's passing earlier, and I express my sympathy to his family. I worked for Jim for 5 years in the Tower, during Jim's tenure as NMM of the Footwear Dept.
I didn't like the Tower too much, but Jim enabled me to keep my sanity during those years - he was a wonderful boss! People who didn't work for Sears in the Tower would be hard pressed to understand the stress in those days, and he made it easier for everyone, with a wonderful sense of humor. I'm sure it took a terrible toll on him personally.
I met Mary on a number of occasions and she is a delightful lady! Jim often talked of his children, and he obviously loved his family very much. I lost touch with him after we both left Sears, and that has been my loss.
