MATTHEW LISTMAN

LIBERTYVILLE - Matthew Listman, 21, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2023. Matt was born in Lake Forest Hospital and graduated from Libertyville High School, where he participated in football and lacrosse. Matt was getting ready to graduate from Illinois State University with a degree in Business. Matt is remembered for his positive demeanor and had the ability to find good in everyone. He was an old soul and cherished time with those near him. He was naturally talented in the classroom or the dance floor, except for whistling or balancing on a pogo stick. He loved being with others and genuinely took an interest in their lives. On Sundays, you would catch him rooting for his Minnesota Vikings and then making a fantastic homemade meal from scratch that he gladly shared. He had an affinity for collectible shoes and enjoyed every music genre. Matt was an animal lover. Matt enjoyed being outdoors and being in nature. He may have been the world's worst liar, which made you love him all the more. He was a true family man who cherished and nurtured each relationship. Matt was a great son, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed. Matt is survived by his parents, Ron (Harla) and Casey (Chris) Haan; his sister, Breezy; his grandparents, Linda and Greg Bennett and Kathy (Steve) Haan-Hall; his uncles and aunts, Brian and Heather Bennett, Erin White, and Ray and Debby Listman, Matt (Courtney) Haan and Andrew (Andrea) Haan; and his cousins, Emma, Megan, Max, Lucy, Nicholas, and Jacob. Matt is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Jane Listman. Visitation for Matt will be Saturday, Feb. 4th, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville.
