MOUNT PROSPECT - Richard C. Kviz, "Dick" and "Rich," 84, died peacefully at home with his family at his side on October 2, 2016. He was born February 19,1932. He was a Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer for 42 years with the firms of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Perkins & Will and McGuire Engineers. He designed systems for multiple impressive buildings in Chicago, Suburbs and International. He was an Air Force Veteran serving as a flight engineer during the Korean Conflict and flew many missions. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vilia (Chelby), his son, Brian and his daughter, Allison (Paul) Ulreich and his adored grandchildren, Brett, Ryan and Lucy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley, nephew, Bradley and baby daughter. Visitation Thursday, Oct.6, 2016 from 4-9pm at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect, IL. Funeral Service Friday at 11am. Entombment Memory Gardens Cemetery.
