Richard "Dick" Maneval

Richard "Dick" Maneval of Grayslake, longtime Libertyville resident, passed away Oct 18, 2025, and walked into the arms of his Savior and heard these words: "Well done good and faithful servant!"

Dick was born Sept. 28, 1936, in Bryon, Ohio, and enjoyed 89 years in this world! Dick's life was marked by an incredible work ethic and a passion for building. His career began as a laborer, carpenter, and certified welder, which led to heavy construction building bridges for the Illinois Highways. He later served as the general foreman for the construction of McDonald's Global Headquarters. In 1985, he founded his own business, Richard Maneval Construction, which he proudly operated for the rest of his life, never truly retiring.

His dedication extended to his spiritual life, where he served as Pastor of the Libertyville Community of Christ Church for 10 years. In his free time, Dick was a meticulous craftsman, building perfect model planes, intricate train sets, clocks, and furniture. He also loved the challenge of a good puzzle.

Above all, Dick's greatest joy was his family. He would light up whenever his grandchildren came to visit. He will be fondly remembered for his sweet tooth, especially his love for a gooey Cinnabon or a Dunkin' Donuts treat. He loved his Savior, his family, his friends, his dogs, and most especially, his beloved wife, Judy.

He is survived by his spouse, Judy of 68 wonderful years; their two children, Mitchel (Donna) Maneval and Michael (Deborah) Maneval; his grandchildren, Jennifer Maneval, Jonathon (Lindsey) Maneval, Shanna (Gregory Sidel) Maneval, Austin (Emily) Maneval; his great-ggrandchildren, Taylor Chambers, Cole Chambers, McKenna Maneval, Isabella Sidel, Isaac Sidel, Grace Maneval, and soon to be Jack Maneval; and one of his closest friends (often referred to as his third son), Pat Hogan, who proudly served as Superintendent for his business for 40 years.

Visitation for Dick will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, Oct 24th, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, Oct 25th, at the funeral home with interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
