Roger L. Alm Sr.

Roger L. Alm Sr. of Arlington Heights for 47 years Prayers for Roger L. Alm Sr., 84, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Mass will follow at 10 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road. Born March 16, 1919, in St. Paul, Minn., he died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at The Moorings Health Center, Arlington Heights. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Alm was an auditor having worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad with 42 years of service prior to his retirement in 1982. He was a former member of the St. James Church Golf League and had served as a Eucharistic minister and lecturer at the church. In retirement, Mr. Alm kept busy with his favorite hobby, golf. He had part-time employment at Medinah Country Club. He was the loving husband of Juliana (nee Jungbauer); dearest father of Susan (Willard) Neu, James (Sallie) Alm, both of Arlington Heights, Debra (David) May of Mendota Heights, Minn., and the late Roger L. Alm Jr.; dear grandfather of Richard (Jeannette) and Michael (Jessica) Neu and Sara, Jason, David, Melissa, Steven, Jonathan, Heather and Julie; dear great-grandfather of Brett and Tyler; dear brother of A. Lloyd (the late Dorcye) Alm and Jean (the late Walter) Smith, both of St. Paul, Minn.; and dear father-in-law of Renee Alm of Antioch. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
