SCOTT BOHL Obituary

Our only son and brother, Scott Terence Bohl, 26, passed away at his apartment in Chicago on April 6th, 2017. He was born June 6th, 1990 and was a 2008 graduate of Libertyville High School. Scott was a proud Cyclone and received his B.S. degree in Apparel Merchandising and Design from Iowa State University. He previously was employed by Men's Wearhouse and was a Soft Lines Team Leader at Target in Chicago. Scott had a captivating smile, infectious laugh and tender heart. A creative soul, he was known for his signature style along with trendy haircuts and, most of all, SHOES! Athletically inclined, Scott enjoyed them all and every sporting event - especially March Madness and the Cubs. Loving the weekends with friends and family meant movies, TV series, long walks and Portillos. Addictive illness changes everything. It is cunning, powerful, and patient: not a moral failure. During his journey, he was held close by his family and friends. Scott battled and, at times, persevered. Scott leaves his parents, Gary and Bonni, his sisters Brenna, Grace and his girlfriend Sonnie Mason. He is survived by his grandmother Patricia Hasel, stepgrandmother Carol Bohl, many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents N.J. and Marion Bohl and grandfather John Benn. A celebration of his life will be held at Mickey Finn's on Saturday, April 29th from 1pm-5pm with fond memories spoken at 4pm. Wear your favorite casuals, just like Scotty's Styles. Memorial contributions may be directed to Live4Lali.org or Youth Conservation Corps - YouthBuild, 1020 W. Greenwood Ave., Waukegan, IL 60087.

Dear Bohl family,
We are so very sad and sorry to hear about the loss of Scott. Tom loved to coach him and he was always the cutest little gentleman at Butterfield when I was room mother. Addiction is a baffling disease that knows no boundaries. We pray that your warm family memories will get you through this most difficult time.
Love and prayers,
The Girmscheid Family

I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to Scott's family and friends. It's times like these when the loving promises of our Heavenly Father such as knowing that we can see our loved ones again can bring us comfort and soften some of the pain we feel in our hearts. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13,14

April 27, 2017

To The Family of Mr. Scott Terrence Bohl, my heartfelt sympathy and deepest sympathy. May you find comfort from this poem during your time of grief and sorrow: "Oh, please don't feel guilty, it was just my time to go. I see you are still feeling sad, and the tears just seem to flow. We all come to earth for our lifetime, for some it's not many years, I don't want you to keep crying. You are shedding so many tears. I haven't really left you, even though it may seem so. I have just gone to my heavenly home, and I'm closer to you than you know. Just believe that when you say my name, I'm standing next to you. I know you long to see me, but there is nothing I can do. But I'll still send you messages and hope you understand that when it's time to "cross over," I'll be there to take your hand." (Carolyn)

There are no words to describe the pain your hearts are feeling at this time. Your son was a beautiful young man with a bright future ahead of him. But I can tell you I feel your pain more than you know because I just lost my 26 year old son Christmas night. May you try and feel peace that he is with his Heavenly Father. It is the ONLY way myself and our family can try and get through this loss of our child can get through this. May God bless your family and take life day by day. That's all you can do

So very sorry for your loss. May your memories of Scott embrace you now in your time of need. Time changes but doesn't heal. Hopefully you will find that strength to move forward and honor their life. I know Tycho would want me too, as I'm sure Scott would want the same.
God's grace,
Barbara

Dear Bonnie and family, my biggest regret is that I never told Scott personally how much he influenced my son Reed in the pursuit of fashion. Reed had a thing for shoes and one day I woke up and realized where it came from! I loved watching Scott flourish with his passion! I know he know s that now. My heart aches for your loss and you have my prayers that God will fill your hearts with the peace that Scott has received because of our Savior!

Dear Bonni and Gary, I fondly remember the laughs we had (for years) over Scott and the pumpkin carving gag reflex. I remember his endless requests for "The Boot Scootin' Boogie" song and enjoying our joint family pizza and BBQ times. And was there ever a crack on a sidewalk that Scott didn't trip over as a kid? May your memories comfort you now and always. We will always be here for you.......
We are so very sorry. Prayers xo Jeannine and Greg
