Jim Hutchinson Obituary

Jim Hutchinson

James (Jim) Hutchinson, 67, escaped this mortal realm on Tuesday, Feb 6, 2024, leaving behind multiple sticks of butter, eggs, cheese, and mayonnaise in the frig from 2016 that he assured us were still edible.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jim Hutchinson and Mae Ferris. His many brothers, sisters, 2 sons and multiple grandchildren…. are still here because they haven't eaten the butter and cheese…. yet.

Jim grew up in Great Falls MT, until middle school, moving on to California to live with his father and step family where he acquired his hard work ethic. After high school, Jim worked on numerous feed lots and cattle ranches. He was a talented and handsome (said Jim) cowboy working on the highline for many years before establishing a successful career in the trucking industry from which he retired in 2020.

He enjoyed many things over a life time. Among those things were his dog Tango, hunting, fishing, golfing, snorkeling, Hawaiian shirts, chopping wood, shooting guns, mints, cold beer, free beer, the History Channel, Meatloaf (the band), war movies, and above all, his friends and family…. wait…not snorkeling, he would have liked it, I'm sure.

He is proceeded in death in 2009 by his loving wife, Dina.

He lived big, and died the same, he loved and was loved by his family and a host of good friends.

A heartfelt thanks go to the truly exceptional nurses and doctors at Logan Hospital, who provided much more than nursing care for Jim, ensuring a compassionate environment during his transition from this life to the next.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 6th, at or about 11sh (Hawaiian time) ….at the family house in Evergreen. Come as you are
