Linda Patterson Obituary

Linda K. Patterson, age 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, October 7, 2025 at Hickory Creek Senior Living in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin and a former longtime resident of Indianapolis.

Linda was born in Johnson County on October 19, 1957, to Carl Franklin "Frank" and Bertha Lee (Bowling) Patterson. She attended Indian Creek High School and retired in 1990 as the Shipping & Receiving Clerk for Major Video Concepts in Indianapolis.

Linda had a kind heart and a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished time spent outdoors-watching birds, butterflies, and flowers always brought her joy. In her younger years, Linda was passionate about riding motorcycles and participated in 15 charity rides, raising funds for Muscular Dystrophy and Riley Children's Hospital. She also enjoyed horseback riding as a child. Linda loved watching suspense and drama shows, with Law & Order being among her favorites.

She is survived by her sons, Scott A. (Michele) Summers of Franklin and Jason R. (Nicole) Summers of Columbus; siblings Evie S. Patterson-Adams of Franklin, Patsy (Mickey) Derringer of Nineveh, and James (Nancy) Patterson of Greenwood; grandchildren Dillon Summers, Hannah Summers, Aidan Summers, Aubry Summers, Parker Summers, Jacob Gibson, and Katelynn Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Shirley Chittum, Ola Patterson, Bruce Patterson, Sherman Patterson, Donald Patterson, and David Patterson.

Pastor Jason Hampton will conduct a funeral service on Friday, October 10th at 12:00 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Nineveh Cemetery.
