FARMINGTON – Marvin Eugene "Gene" Allen of Farmington passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at his home at the age of 87 years. He was born on October 24, 1928, in the Avon community of Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri. Gene was the son of the late Marvin Henry and Clara Jane (Gregory) Allen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Jane McGuire.

Gene proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, first from 1948-1949 and was then recalled during the Korean War from 1950-1952. Gene and his sister Beverly Jane were baptized together at the Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church. Gene was later confirmed and became a faithful member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington. Gene had a dual career for many years as a mail carrier and real estate agent. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday, February 5, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. with an Elk's Memorial Service to be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning at the Cozean Chapel from 7-9 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Rick Foss officiating. Following the funeral the procession will be led by the Patriot Guard to the Pleasant Hill United Baptist Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County for interment with full military honors.
