DESLOGE -- Raymond Francis Faskell of Desloge passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015, at his home in Desloge at the age of 85 years. He was born January 28, 1930, at Appleton, Wisconsin, son of the late Ronald and Catherine (Wolf) Faskell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Darwin Wolf, sister Monica Mologousis and a son-in-law Rick Henderson.
Ray proudly and honorably served his country in the Air Force. He was a former Insurance salesman and agent, having retired from Aid Association for Lutherans which later changed to Thrivent Financial. He was the leader of the Country-Western Band "Ray Lewis and the Westernaires", he taught Life Underwriting Training Courses at Mineral Area College and was the owner/operator of Ozark Country Clock Shop for 25 years. He was a long-time and faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Park Hills where he served as an Usher, former President of the Congregation, past Chairman of the Board of Elders, taught Adult Bible Study, was a member of the Vocal Choir, Hand-bell Choir, and Evangelism Teams. In his spare time he enjoyed oil painting, coin collecting, wood working, and most of all Cardinals Baseball!
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his wife of 43 years, Janet (Jerome) Faskell of Desloge, son Richard (and Crystol) Faskell of Memphis, Tenn., four daughters, Susan (and Kenneth) Coon of Tuscon, Arizona, Sharon Henderson of Lebanon, Illinois, Sandra Dombal of O'Fallon, Illinois and Sarah Faskell of O'Fallon, Illinois; four grandchildren, Clayton Faskell of Memphis, Tennessee, Chelsey Henderson, of Lebanon, Illinois, Aimee Adkison of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Angela Lingle of Imperial, three step-grandchildren Kevin, Kellie and Kyle Coon, nine great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives, neighbors, and dear friends.
Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills from 10–11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Tristan Engle officiating. Memorials if desired may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Park Hills, 309 Taylor Ave., Park Hills, Mo. 63601. Interment with full military honors, will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Farmington.
