I have known Davis since 1965,He came aboard the USCG Eastwind as an Cook striker SNCS .He worked with me in the galley , we fed over 300 men three meals a day plus baked bread, pastry and donuts day and night. we did this for 2 years. in 1968 we left the ship and went our separate ways. 2014 ,We found each other on Facebook. the next summer to our surprise Betsy and David was in our home town, we welcomed them and they stayed for a couple days. we had a great time telling story's about our younger days, talking about our children. Last February Wendy and I planned a trip and made sure that we would stop in and stay with Betsy and David . David was very excited to see us < Him and Betsy were the best host and we had a great time. Knowing his health problems we kind of new this would be the last time we would see each other on this earth.David and I both know we will see each other again , in Heaven , thanks to Jesus our lord.LOVE you David , You too Betsy take care ,

My deepest condolences to the family. I knew David as a Chaplain and a friend. We shared many stories especially about motorcycles. As his Coast Guard motto "Semper Paratus" states - he was always ready to help others and lend a hand. He will be missed.
