Someone who went out of her way to help others

I will never forget the rides to Eddystone Fabric Mill when I was a student at Cheyney.

Or sitting on your living room floor learning a sewing technique.

You were out behind a surgery and heard I needed help.

I was fortunate to have learned from a GREAT, STYLIST AND CLASSY LADY!

To the woman who helped raise me,

I will miss our matching red leather jackets.
I will miss your infectious laughter.
I will miss your smile.
I will miss your hugs.
I will miss your warm hands.

I will miss you slipping me money in church.
I will miss your beautiful garden on College Hill Drive.
I will miss running up the hill on the side of the house.
I will miss hearing about the wild parties you and Harry used to throw.
I will miss sharing sugar cookies from Nussex Farms.

Thank you for your sage advice (ie. definitely marry rich if possible).
Thank you for teaching me to be kind without losing sight of myself.
Thank you for always asking me if I was happy and urging me to change my life when I was not.
Thank you for believing in me.

I know that is was time for you to go, but my heart hurts nonetheless. I know that you knew it was me, though you struggled to speak my name. You smiled and I know that you knew.

I know that you worried about not leaving a significant mark on the world, but you were extraordinary. You were everything to me and countless others.

We miss you. We love you. Goodbye for now, yet not forever. I will meet you at sunset beside the pearly gates on the other side of the horizon xo

With all of my heart,
Jackie's Baby

How we have missed our dear neighbor since her move to Cathedral Village many years ago! From the very first moment we arrived in Cheyney 30 years ago to live in the house across the street from Jackie and Harry, they were the ideal neighbors, wrapping us in their warmth and love: Jackie left a delicious welcome to the neighborhood cake on our doorstep, was always interested in our lives and in our children's lives, brought them gifts at every birthday and at Christmas, and was full of laughter as we shared stories from our day-to-day adventures and as we watched the neighborhood evolve over the years. She was a wonderful, wonderful woman, brimming with life, wisdom, and generosity. Moving to Cheyney to raise our family proved to be the best decision we ever made, and Jackie was a big part of that. We cherish her memory, and now that we are the retired, older couple on the street -- just as she and Harry were when we first settled here -- we are trying to live up to her stellar example of how to nourish the next generation. It was a joy and privilege to know her. We send our best wishes and condolences to the Starr and Hobbs families, and to all of her family members.

Sincere and heartfelt condolences on behalf of the family of Pat Kocielski. We were blessed to enjoy Mrs. Starr's friendship and will miss her dearly. But we take comfort in our vision that now our mom, Pat and Mrs. Starr are now reunited in friendship and enjoying each other's company from above.
Our prayers to Lynn and family for comfort during your difficult loss.

The Dowdy's

January 5, 2016

The Dowdy family expresses it's deepest sympathy to Lynn and the family members upon the passing of Nana Jack. We have been blessed with the presence of her in our lives for over 40 years. This relationship with her has evolved from college professor, role model, mentor, friend, Nana, and life long teacher. She has given her unconditional love and wisdom to us and a host of others throughout her life. While our hearts are heavy as result of her loss we are happy that we had visited her recently to express our love and affection for her. Before we left her room she was able to speak the words "I love you too". Lynn, thanks for sharing your mother with us for all of these wonderful years. We know that God has granted her eternal peace & life within his kingdom. Love; Meryl, Larry, Matthew & Leah.
