Norman L. Carr of Chester Springs Norman L. Carr, 82, of Chester Springs, passed away on Jan. 12, 2014. He was the husband of the late Nancy Ruhl Carr and the son of the late Robert and Edith Duling Carr. Norman is survived by his sons, James N. (Jo) and Samuel R.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; 22 nieces and nephews; and brothers, Raymond H. and Charles L. He was preceded in death by daughter, Debbie Chance; and siblings, G. Robert, J. Norris and Dorothy Erwin. In the 60's he started working in the family business, Robert H. Carr & Sons trucking depot in Frazer, sold life insurance and real estate in the 70's while winning his share of salesmanship awards along the way. He then served as proprietor of the Glenmoore Country Store in the 80's. In the early 90's and until recently he worked as property manager with his dear brother Raymond. He always referred to these as his happiest years. His family commends the entire staff of Brandywine Hall for providing the best care and comfort. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17th, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 2440 Conestoga Rd., Chester Springs PA 19425, where the family will receive guests starting at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining churchyard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Melmark, 2600 Wayland Rd., Berwyn, PA 19312. Condolences may be made by visiting: www.foundsfuneralhome.com

Norm was my Dad's(Bob Montgomery)roommate for a while at Brandywine Hall. He always had something nice to say to me when I visited. I was sorry to hear of his passing. Our sincere condolences to the family.

"Uncle" Norm was always someone Teri & I loved to see walk through our door. It was also nice to stop by his house just for a visit. Always a welcoming smile and a funny story. We have known each other a couple decades and at the end of every conversation, he would say, "Send your mother my love and give her a hug for me". They were mutual property owners in Glenmoore and Mon and he would chat often. I saw Norm on Christmas Day and as always, he said it that day. I did, Norm. Thanks for being a part of our lives. As always, safe travels and Godspeed.

My grandfather was a very handsome and beautiful person, i will miss him dearly. I will always have fond memories of sitting on his lap when i was a little girl and riding horses with him and Nan.
