William "Wild Bill" Illes obituary, Coatesville, PA

William Illes Obituary

William Illes 'Wild Bill' of Coatesville William Illes "Wild Bill", 82, of Coatesville, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at his home, in the loving company of his family. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Kopanski Illes with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Michael Illes, Sr. and Bessie Molnar Illes. William was U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, having served from 1951 to 1953. He was employed by Illes Brothers Construction from 1947 to 1951 and after the service returned to bricklaying until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Illes was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. He was a life member of the Polish American Citizens Club and a life member of the West End Fire Company, where he served as a Fire Police officer. In addition to his wife, Phyllis, William is survived by two children, Anthony G. Illes and his wife, Carol and Geralyn M. Illes Thomas, wife of Michael J. Thomas, all of Coatesville; four grandchildren, Michael A. Thomas of Coatesville, Ashley M. Thomas Stichter, wife of Richard of Delaware, Adam C. Thomas and Felicia M. Thomas, both of Coatesville; a great- grandson, Dante C. Entress; two brothers, Louis Illes of Paoli and Alexander Illes and his wife, Bonnie of Coatesville; five sisters, Bessie Leusky, wife of the late George Leusky, Mary Nagy, wife of the late Michael Nagy, Priscilla Repak, wife of Steven Repak, all of Coatesville, Edith Myers, wife of Paul Myers and Rosemary Gilbert of Florida. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael Illes, John Illes, Frank Illes and George Illes and two sisters, Anne Pulinka and Julia Sauders. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 9, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 209 W. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 8 and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 9, at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Coatesville. In his memory, contributions may be made St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 209 W.
