Ann Wilson Obituary

Ann Davis Wilson, born May 26, 1944, passed away peacefully in her home early in the morning on June 24, 2025. Ann died of congestive heart failure. She spent her final weeks surrounded by friends and family.

Ann grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi and moved to Memphis to pursue a nursing career. She was an active member of Temple Israel, a longtime volunteer at Manna House Ministries, an avid bridge player, and beloved mother, sister, friend, and neighbor. Ann will be remembered by friends and family as a peace-loving, sometimes silly soul who valued community-building and authentic connections with others above all else.

Ann is survived by her two daughters, Julie Wilson (Joe Tompkins) and Dana Wilson, her sister BeJay Gronauer, as well as her niece and nephew and their children and grandchildren.

A service will be held in the Levy-Cooper Chapel at the Temple Israel Cemetery on Thursday, June 26 at 4pm.

Ann was most proud of her daughters' unique commitments to social justice work. Donations to honor Ann's legacy may be made to BRIDGES (www.bridgesusa.org), where Dana worked for 16 years to empower Memphis youth, and Common Roots (www.commonrootspa.org), an affordable housing organization in Meadville, Pennsylvania that Julie founded and leads.
