Carl and Sheila were so welcoming when I joined the family. They hosted us a few times at their beautiful home and we bonded over our Jamaica experiences. He even had painted signs that were `not for sale´ that he purchased from a roadside beef patty vendor that I admired. We also shared an appreciation for Gram Parsons. I wish I´d been able to spend more time with them both. They were creative, kind and enjoyable to be with.

Carl was a giant force of light. He was an adventurer with the spirit of a little boy and the ability of a true artisan. He could make anything. Give the man an idea and he could make it or make it happen. He truly enjoyed life. I first met him through Sheila who was my friend for 63 years. They were living in a little craftsman bungalow in Midtown Memphis. How telling it turned out to be. They started their home building business and the race was on! I was so fortunate to know them. Carl adored Sheila and gave her the best of himself. He would entertain friends and family in ways we could never forget! He loved living on the lake and brought happiness and joy with grace. He was the driving force in the gathering of friends always with love and humor! All of us will remember him as a great friend and wonderful human being. God rest your soul, Carl, we love you!
