Erma Herndon

Erma Fay Herndon, born September 23, 1934, went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2025. She was a retired dental assistant for 45 years and babysitter to her grandchildren after retirement. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jimmy Herndon, parents Will and Eunice Nelson and sisters Elizabeth Gregory, Janie Jones, and Nora Coleman along with her brothers Billy Ray Nelson, and Tommy Nelson Sr. She is survived by her daughters Mary Beth (Davis) Parker, Tina (Bruce) Starkey and Brenda (Scotty) Lambert. She leaves five grandchildren Nick (Jodi) Parker, Kayla (Cruz) Ingerson, Dalton (Ashtyn) Starkey and Bethany (Tyler) Suggs and Chandler Lambert. She also leaves five great-grandchildren Gunnar Parker, Finnleigh and Oaklee Ingerson and Spencer and Scout Starkey. Erma also leaves one brother Bobby Nelson. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and granny. She loved to bake and share her famous pecan pie and divinity with everyone she knew. Erma was truly a wonderful lady and loved with all her heart. She was an active member of Carriage Hills Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hernando or House of Grace in Southaven. Funeral services will be held at Carriage Hills Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi, on Friday, August 22, 2025, with visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and funeral services at 1:00 pm.
