Gail Duron Obituary

Gail Gilliam Duron was a hometown girl, educated at Central High and the University of Memphis.

At age 9, Gail trusted the Lord Jesus as Savior, and always loved the church. She passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at her home in Germantown at the age of 75.

She was the widow of Alex Duron, and is survived by a sister, Brenda Hardgrave of Germantown; a brother Fred Gilliam of Arlington, and stepsiblings Jeff Gilliam of Mason, Tenn., Kim Gilliam of Nashville, and Kay Dulin of Atlanta.

Gail was a longtime member of Central Church in Collierville, where she had served as chairman of women's ministries and on the women's advisory board. Gail had a passion for prayer and community. She held leadership roles in Christian Women's Club, the National Day of Prayer Task Force, Redemption 2009 revival for women, and Memphis Convoy of hope.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., followed by services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 at Central Church, 2005 E. Winchester Blvd. in Collierville. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery East.

I had not talked to Gail in a while. I was looking for her phone number and found her obituary instead. I cannot tell how saddened I was to find that. She and I shared wonderful memories and the sound of her laughter will always be in my head. Bless your soul My Dear Friend.
