Jackie Coleman Obituary
Jackie Coleman, 89, passed away blanketed in love and surrounded by her husband, Charles, her children and grandchildren on March 7, 2025, in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Born March 3, 1936, in Hickory, Mississippi, Jacquelyn Ann Jones brought light and joy into the world-something everyone who knew her would agree never dimmed. Jackie graduated from Olive Branch High School in 1954, married her high school sweetheart, Charles, in 1955, and went on to earn her degree as a Dental Hygienist from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1956. Immediately upon graduation, she began her career at Olive Branch Dental Care, working for Dr. Elton Harris and later for Dr. Jeff Moore until her well-earned retirement in 2014. Jackie (lovingly named Diddy by her sister, Alice Claire), and Charles, who just celebrated 70 years of marriage, built a big, loving family together. She was a devoted mother to Aubrey Coleman (Tricia), Kim Coleman, Donnie Coleman (deceased), and Kay Coleman Bollino (Pete). Her love extended to her grandchildren-Maygan Kelley Mark, Matthew Coleman (Tomie), and Michael Coleman (Kailyn)-and even further to her great-grandchildren: Layton, Channing, Willow, Charlee, Jackie Bea, and soon-to-arrive Swayzee. Jackie is also survived by her sister, Alice Claire (Jones) Roland (Don). She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Jones and Alice Gilmore Jones, her son Donnie, and her sister Patty Jones Wenzler. Beyond her family and career, Jackie found joy in gardening, world travel, and painting. After discovering her artistic passion, she opened a studio called The Magic Brush, where she taught painting lessons for many years. To know Jackie was to love her-but also to be deeply loved in return. Her door and her heart were always open. Anyone who entered her home, her studio, or even her hygienist's chair became family. Her legacy will live on through the love she shared, and may her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Colorectal Cancer Alliance in memory of Jackie's son, Donnie Coleman, and her great-nephew, Vinny Robbins. Donations can be made online at ccalliance.org or by calling (877) 422-2030.
